Setting the Table

When it comes to hosting holiday meals, one of our biggest concerns is impressing our guests with the presentation of the table. The way the table looks can be almost as important as how the food tastes. From setting the table, to the accents, Avery Lane can help with all of it.

First let’s talk about setting the table. While the placement of the dishes and glassware used to be common sense, many people forget the proper way to set a table. We got some help from an article from Real Simple, but thought we would just share the pictures for a quick guide. Whether you are having a casual dinner or need a more formal setting, knowing the correct place for each item on the table is sure to impress your guests.

Now moving on to the actual table. Maybe you are in the market for a new dining table and the holidays are the perfect excuse to finally upgrade! Our advice is to think about what you will be using the table for. Round tables are perfect for a more cozy, family feel, while rectangular or longer tables are best for entertaining and formal dinners.

Like mentioned before, the presentation of the food is just as important as the food itself. Your guests want to eat their meals off of beautiful plates, while drinking out of fancy glassware. The holidays are a perfect time to pull out your fine china. We have many options of full sets of dishware/glassware at Avery Lane that would perfectly complement your holiday meal.

You can’t forget the table decorations and accents when it comes to entertaining for the holidays. Incorporating small pieces, like a Santa Clause or some ornaments, will sure to make your guests “ooh and ahh” at the table. Throw in some greenery from a wreath or your tree and you’ve got yourself the smell of the season.

Hopefully this has given you a little bit of inspiration for your holiday tables. Come find these wonderful items, as well as many other special pieces to add to your home at Avery Lane in Scottsdale, Arizona.
